Tango 300

Prerequisite: Tango 200 or 3+ years of experience

Tango 300 is designed as a continuation of Tango 200 with a focus on axis and how it's used to create dynamics and direction in the dance. It explores shared axis movements and how the free leg responds to changes of the axis. We dive deeper into the technique of connection exploring concepts that allow us to create dynamic movements both in closed and open embrace.

This level includes two courses, 300M and 300S, which can be taken in either order.

TANGO 300 membership includes:

• All group classes at Tango 300, 200 & 100 level

• Weekly 1h Tango Fit (all levels)

• Weekly 2h Practica

Curriculum

Each series/topic (301, 302 etc.) spans 4 weeks.

TANGO 300M

While merging classic Milonguero style with modern tango technique, we dive deeper into the technique of connection. We’ll explore concepts that allow us to create dynamic movements while maintaining a comfortable and flexible close embrace.

301M: Expert Walking

302M: Unusual Crosses

303M: Three Positions, One Embrace

304M: Decoding Crosses & Dynamics

305M: Volcada Milonguera

TANGO 300S

This course focuses on axis and how it's used to create dynamics and direction in the dance. It explores shared axis movements and how the free leg responds to changes of the axis.

301S: The Axis

302S: Sacadas Deconstructed

303S: Calesitas

304S: Boleos

305S: El Gancho

"M" for "Milonguero" and "S" for "Salon"

Our “M” & “S” courses are designed in a way that you can start with either, and this is because they cover the same or similar topics, but we explore the topics with different sequences and concepts. (this goes for all the levels: Tango 100-400)

The Milonguero course focuses on the social-dancing aspects of the dance, being able to keep movements compact and fluid on a crowded dance floor, while maintaining a comfortable embrace.

The Salon course focuses more on body mechanics and movements that require a bit more space, and how to maintain the flexibility in the embrace required for different movements.
