Tango 200 A&B (5-Month Intensive)

PREREQUISITE: TANGO 100

next semester starts jan 18, 2018

Tango 200 A & 200 B are MEMBERSHIP ONLY (no drop-in) all-level tango series with limited class size, designed as a continuation of Tango 100. The Tango 200 A & B semesters focus on more complex turn combinations and systems of walking and give an introduction to Vals and Milonga. After completing Tango 100, you can do either 200 A or 200 B, but both must be completed before being eligible for Tango 300.

EACH MONTHLY SERIES INCLUDES:

  • 8 hours of group instruction 
    • Previously completed series (Tango 100) are complimentary
  • 14 hours of open practice*
  • A 30 min. video assessment* of the monthly material
  • Homework and practice requirement: each student must commit to a minimum of 1h of group practice per week outside of class

TANGO 201: LA MEDIA VUELTA

  • Week 1: The Half Turn              
  • Week 2: Turns with Rock Steps           
  • Week 3: Turns with a Pasada  
  • Week 4: Turns with Two Pasadas

TANGO 202: FULL TURNS

  • Week 1: The Full Right Turn (from the cross w lapiz)                                       
  • Week 2: The Full Left Turn
  • Week 3: The Classic Left Turn Right Turn Combo                             
  • Week 4: The Classic Right Turn Left Turn Combo

TANGO 203: CHANGE OF DIRECTION

  • Week 1: Blocking the Back and Forward 8                                   
  • Week 2: Sending the Back and Forward 8
  • Week 3: Switches                            
  • Week 4: Blocking, Sending, and Switching

TANGO 204: VALS CRUZADO

  • Week 1: Vals Basic                    
  • Week 2: Turns out of Back 8s    
  • Week 3: Milonguero Dip with a Pasada              
  • Week 4: Catch and Pass      

TANGO 205: MILONGA

  • Week 1: Milonga Basic                                                               
  • Week 2: Outside Rhythm Steps plus the Basic 
  • Week 3: The Rhythm Box plus Outside Rhythm Steps              
  • Week 4: Circular Corridas plus The Rhythm Box
